submission

Submissions for the 2017 PDX Pop Now! are now closed. Thank you to everyone who sent in music, we’ll be notifying you of the selections by June 2017.

Want to know more about the Compilation Submission process?

Local musicians can submit one track each, and all genres are encouraged to apply. Each year PDX Pop Now! assembles over 40 tracks representative of Portland’s thriving music scene, for a two-disc compilation.

As a PDX Pop Now! production, tracks are narrowed down through a long established democratic process. Songs are attained through artist submissions, and are then anonymously run through a rigorous listening panel comprised of board members and over 100 volunteers. After progressing from the listening panel, final tracks are then selected with attention to diversity, genre representation, and voting popularity.

To Be Considered

  • You must upload one original song
  • Only one song will be considered for the compilation
  • You must be a Portland based artist
  • Be the rights holder of the song you submit

So what’s next?

After receiving all of the submissions, songs are anonymously evaluated by the 100 volunteers on the PDX Pop Now! Listening Committee, as well as the PDX Pop Now! Board of Directors. We will send you an email in mid-April letting you know whether or not your song has been selected. At this time, if you’ve been selected, we’ll be in touch about paperwork, high-quality audio files for mastering, and other info we may need. Any questions? Please contact
